Baptist Collegiate Ministries

Dedicated to Glorifying God through Discipleship

What is BCM?
B*C*M (n) Baptist Collegiate Ministries

BCM is an ongoing ministry of the Noonday Baptist Association, in partnership with Georgia Baptist Convention, to the students of Kennesaw State University and Southern Polytechnic State University.  This mission field contains over 26,000 students.

According to the Barna Research Group, "nearly three out of every five young Christian (59%) disconnect either permanently or for an extended period of time from church life after age 15" (Barna Group, September 2011).  Your students do not have to lose contact with their faith and their church!

Connecting with a Christian group on campus is a critical means to avoid this disconnect.  For decades, Georgia Baptists have sponsored on-campus ministry for college students.  Many of us knew it as Baptist Student Union or BSU.  BSU is now know as Baptist Collegiate Ministries (BCM), but the mission remains the same.

BCM has a two-fold mission.  First, we seek to introduce college students to Jesus Christ.  If students already know Jesus as Savior, our second task is to help them grow in their faith.  BCM completes its mission with a balanced program of outreach and person growth opportunities.  Outreach acctivities include evangelistic projects, church and community service, short-term mission trips and summer missions, and encouraging students to be a part of a local church.  Personal growth activities focus on discipleship with Bible study groups, prayer groups, and mentoring.  BCM sponsors recreational and social events as well.  BCM is a student-led organization.  A student leadership team decides which ministries and activities will be offered each semester and they set the calendar.

BCM groups are found on almost every college campus in Georgia.  The Noonday Baptist Association sponsors BCM at Southern Polytechnic and Kennesaw State.  Students can connect with BCM in a variety of ways.  College can be a time of extraordinary spiritual g rowth if students will make their faith a priority.  BCE makes a way for college students to grow in their faith and practice their leadership skills.

College is a time of growth, and BCM helps you grow.  BCM is not "just for Baptists."  BCM is an organization that is Christ-centered and open to all students, faculty, and staff regardless of faith background.

At BCM our prayer is that we would grow in our Christian faith.  Are you not familiar with Jesus Christ?  Let us introduce you to Him.  Do you already know Jesus?  Let's strive together to get to know Him better.

BCM is a place where you can praise and worship God weekly, get a FREE lunch, build life-long friendships, eat more (because you are a poor college student), and be an active part of the body of Christ.  Our main goal is that you will come to the knowledge of a very real and loving God and grow in His grace.
