Noonday Churches and Local School Mentoring

Noonday churches can be a catalyst for building a culture of mentoring.  Here are two ways you and your church can be a part of the mentoring movement in your community's schools:

Several Noonday churches are already meeting the mentoring need in their neighborhood's elementary schools by partnering with Kids  Hope USA.  Through the creation of church-school partnerships, KHUSA pairs church members with at-risk kids in supportive, mentoring relationships.  To learn more click HERE or contact Lisa Joyner.

Cobb County School District is championing one-to-one mentoring in our schools through the recently formed Cobb Mentoring Matters initiative.  Learn more about how you and your church members can partner with CMM to meet the need for mentoring in the lives of young people in your community by clicking HERE or contact Lin Harrison at (678) 773-6700.

The Teach One to Lead One (T1L1) philosophy is used to develop character and leadership skills of young people in Cobb County.  The T1L1 program equips young people to build lives of integrity, create positive relationships, stand strong in healthy habits and to multiply their influence among their peers.  For more information on this mentoring program click HERE or contact Lin Harrison at (678) 773-6700.

ESL--English as a Second Language

Noonday BA sponsors 16-hour English as a Second Language Teacher workshops. These workshops train church members to teach English as a second language and assist in beginning an ESL ministry.
